Ministers & Money
a conversation about Compensation, Benefits and Financial Wellness
Ministers & Money: a conversation about Compensation, Benefits and Financial Wellness
Friday, March 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Columbia, Missouri
Area ministers and a trusted congregational layperson advocate are invited to take part in a one-day workshop focused on common financial concerns that affect the health of churches and ministers.
Building on the results of CBF’s recent survey of ministers, key topics will include:
- Student and Consumer Debt (67% carry a debt that equals up to 2 times their salary – not including mortgage.)
- Financial Planning (75% of ministers have never met with a financial advisor)
- Retirement Planning (60% do not feel prepared for retirement)
- Health Insurance (44% do not receive medical benefits from their employer)
The workshop will also provide minister compensation resources and suggestions for ways churches can ease their pastors’ financial stress, enabling more effective and more enjoyable ministry.
CBF Heartland is grateful to the estate of Jim and June York for sponsoring this event.
