Resources and Training for Lay Leaders in Churches
Churches rarely move beyond the capabilities, preparation or spiritual development of their leaders. CBF Heartland is committed to helping develop vibrant leaders for churches and ministries in and beyond the region. We believe the resources listed here can be a help to you, and CBF Heartland staff is always available for consultation in leadership areas.

Many church leaders are working to develop or renew their discipleship, religious education or spiritual formation programs and initiatives. CBF Heartland staff will be happy to assist in any discussion or meeting. In addition, the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship offers Spiritual Formation resources for all ages, including Affect, a monthly resource for adults.
Deacons and Committees
CBF Heartland staff can meet with deacons or church committees in planning or retreat settings. Our region-wide interaction with churches as well as our personal experiences as church leaders can be a valuable resource for your leadership groups. In addition, CBF offers deacon-oriented articles and other resources for deacons and lay leaders.
Strategic planning and visioning is vital for churches. Many systems exist, offering a number of possible strategies for planning. CBF Heartland staff can assist churches in their planning with thoughtful advice, a listening ear, and broad experience.
